Opening of schools postponed to May 6

The opening of schools for the second term has been postponed to May 6.

The decision was taken after the National Security Council met with President Maithripala Sirisena today.

Schools were scheduled to reopen for the second term on April 22 but following the Easter Sunday bombings it was postponed to April 29.

However, as the tense situation still remains in the country, it has been decided to postponed it to May 6.
