Coronavirus patients detected in Kandy District

Over twenty-five (25) COVID- 19 patients were detected in the Kandy district within the last 24-hours ending at 06.00am today. The National Operations Centre for the Prevention of COVID-19 (NOCPC) said that they were among 400 patients detected as of this morning. From the 400 patients, 391 were from three districts, while nine were Sri Lankans who returned from overseas. Red alert issued for Northern Sri Lanka as Cyclone Nivar approaches

A red alert has been issued for Northern Sri Lanka as Cyclone Nivar approaches. The Department of Meteorology said that 100-150mm of rain can be expected at several places in the North on Tuesday and Wednesday while over 150mm of rain can be expected at isolated areas.
