More suspects deported from Dubai

Two more suspects who were arrested at a hotel in Dubai in February with notorious underworld leader Makandure Madush, were deported to Sri Lanka and detained at the Katunayake airport.

The suspects were identified as Mohammed Nazim Mohammed Faizer and Mohomed Jabeer Mohomed Mufa.

The Police said that the two suspects were detained at the airport last night by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID).

Mohammed Faizer was later arrested and handed over to the Colombo Crimes Division.

Several suspects arrested at a party at the Dubai hotel were sent back to Sri Lanka over the past few weeks. (Colombo Gazette)

Close associates of notorious criminals arrested

Close associates of two notorious criminals have been arrested in two separate incidents. The Police said that two close accomplices of organized crime gang member and drug dealer ?Seethawa Podda? were arrested in Avissawella by the Police Special Task Force (STF).
