Quarantine curfew extended till 21st September

The quarantine curfew has been extended till 21st September, the President’s Office said today. The curfew has been extended till 4am on Tuesday 21st September. The decision to extend the curfew was taken after President Gotabaya Rajapaksa met the Covid Task Force today for its weekly discussion. Government considering Covid jab for 12-18 year olds

The Government is considering administering the Covid jab for children between the ages of 12-18. Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella said that a final decision on this will be taken soon. At present the Government is vaccinating those above 20 years. The vaccination of those above 60 is almost complete while the vaccination of those above 30 has also been carried out. The Government commenced vaccinating those between the ages of 20-30 recently at multiple centers in the Western Province.

Kin of dead Sri Lankan urge Japan immigration to fully disclose video

The family of a Sri Lankan woman who died in March following mistreatment at a Japanese immigration center, visited the immigration agency today (Friday) to seek full disclosure of two weeks’ worth of a security camera footage of her final days.
