Temple Trees to run on generators during power crisis

Temple Trees will run on generators during the power crisis, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said today.

He requested all state institutions not to be a burden on the national grid during the ongoing crisis.

Speaking at an event today, the Prime Minister requested state institutions to make maximum use of power generators till the crisis is resolved.

He also said that a committee appointed by President Maithripala Sirisena to look into the power crisis will submit a report soon.

The Prime Minister said that the report by the committee will be presented to Parliament. (Colombo Gazette)

More arrests by TID reported in Jaffna

More people have been arrested in Jaffna by the?Terrorist?Investigations Division (TID), the Uthayan newspaper reported?quoting sources as saying. According to the report 13 people between the ages of 19 and 55 were arrested over the past 2 days which includes 7 arrested by the TID and brought to Colombo this week.
