Kenya and Sri Lanka discuss wide ranging issues

Kenya and Sri Lanka today had talks on a wide ranging issues.

The President of Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta had talks with President Maithripala Sirisena on the sidelines of a UN conference in Kenya today (Thursday).

The President is in Nairobi to attend the fourth session of the UN Environment Assembly (UNEA-4).

The President participated in the Assembly today on an invitation extended by the President of Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta.

The fourth session of the UN Environment Assembly, which commenced on March 11, will continue until March 15 in Nairobi under the theme ?Innovative Solutions for Environmental Challenges and Sustainable Consumption and Production?.

The President of France, Emmanuel Macron and other dignitaries are attending the Conference. (Colombo Gazette)

Piyasena Gamage sworn in as UPFA Galle district MP

Piyasena Gamage was sworn in as a United People?s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) Galle district member of Parliament today. Gamage was given the seat made vacant following Geetha Kumarasinghe?s removal. Electric vehicle tax to be reduced, luxury vehicle tax up

The Government has proposed to reduce the import tax on electric vehicles by Rs 1 million in the budget for 2018. Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera told Parliament today that the import tax on luxury vehicles will be increased by Rs. 2.5 million.
