The Committee on Public Accounts (COPA) tabled its report in Parliament relating to Public Institutions for the financial year of 2018. The report contains information on 844 institutions of State, Provincial Councils and Local Government. Government accuses US of provocation

The Government has accused the United States (US) of provocation following the travel ban imposed by the US on Army Commander and Acting Chief of Defense Staff Lt. Gen. Shavendra Silva. Government MP Namal Rajapaksa said that the move will weaken bilateral relations with the US. ?The U.S. travel ban on Army Commander Lt. Gen. Shavendra Silva is deplorable & based on unsubstantiated allegations. The ban on family members is needless provocation and these actions only weaken bilateral relations.

Interdicted Judge Pilapitiya files writ application

Embilipitiya High Court Judge Gihan Pilapitiya, who was interdicted in January, filed a writ application before the Court of Appeal today.
