UNP insists 2019 budget not influenced by outsiders

The United National Party (UNP) today insisted that the 2019 Budget is a UNP budget and was not influenced by outsiders.

Minister of Economic Reforms and Public Distribution Dr. Harsha de Silva defended the budget when speaking in Parliament today.

He said the budget offered several concessions to the public and must be welcomed.

The Minister also noted that the budget was in line with the UNP policies and was a UNP budget. (Colombo Gazette)

One person shot dead, another injured in Pettah

One person was killed while another individual sustained injuries following a shooting incident in Pettah today. Gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire near the Bastian Mawatha Bus Stand in Pettah today. The Police said that a 30-year-old man was killed in the shooting incident. Initial investigations had revealed that the shooting incident was related to a personal dispute.
