The Special High Court today granted bail to Niraj Roshan alias ?Ali Roshan? and 6 others over the illegal possession of four elephants and racketeering. Ali Roshan was arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) last month over an elephant racket. (Colombo Gazette)

Pakistani couple arrested with heroin capsules

A Pakistani couple were arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) today with heroin capsules which they had swallowed. The Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) arrested a 67-year-old woman and 44-year-old man after they arrived in the country from Dubai. They were taken to the?Negombo Hospital to remove the capsules. The Police said that?35 capsules with heroin had been removed as of this morning. (Colombo Gazette)

ADB provides USD 50 million for health system enhancement project
