The Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL) has established a unit to investigate allegations of Human Rights violations by Government officials in the context of the 2019 Presidential Election. Foreign Minister leads Sri Lanka delegation at NAM meeting

Foreign Minister Tilak Marapana is leading the Sri Lanka delegation to the 18th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM). The Foreign Minister said that Marapana is in Baku, Azerbaijan leading the Sri Lanka delegation to the 18th Summit of the Heads of State and Government of the Non-Aligned Movement. Probe on death of Bangladeshi found hanging by the neck in Kegalle

An investigation has been launched over the death of a Bangladeshi national who was found hanging by the neck in Kegalle, the Police media unit said today. The 22 year-old Bangladeshi was found hanging by the neck in a room at a lodge in Kegalle last evening. He was admitted to hospital in a serious condition and was later pronounced dead. The victim was identified as Joy Bharusha and the Police suspect he committed suicide over a love affair.
