SLFP denies rift despite differences of opinion

The Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) today denied claims there is a split in the party despite differences of opinion. SLFP MP Dilan Perera said that all SLFP members will join hands to ensure the party wins the Local Government elections under the United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) ticket. A group of SLFP members are part of the joint opposition which is working against the coalition Government. (Colombo Gazette)

Gota at commission over Rakna Lanka probe

Former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa appeared before the Presidential Commission investigating large scale corruption today to make another statement in relation to an ongoing investigation. Health Minister plays down strike by doctors

Health Minister and cabinet spokesman, Dr Rajitha Senaratne, today played down a strike by doctors which is scheduled to end tomorrow morning.
