Priyani Jayasinghe’s husband remanded over wife’s murder

The husband of singer Priyani Jayasinghe was today ordered to be remanded until 23rd July. Jayasinghe?s husband had been arrested over the murder of his wife. Priyani Jayasinghe was found dead at her home in Panadura this week. A police spokesperson had said that the singer was found stabbed to death. The murder is believed to have been committed using a pair of scissors.

Missing Sri Lankan fishermen and boat found safe at sea

A fishing boat and seven Sri Lankan fishermen who were reported missing, have been found safe at sea. The?Fisheries Ministry said that the fishermen were found close to the Maldives. India and the Maldives had assisted the Sri Lankan authorities to locate the missing fishermen. (Colombo Gazette)
