Canadian Foreign Minister John Baird is expected to attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Sri Lanka, External Affairs Ministry Monitoring MP Sajin Vass Gunawardena?said today. Canadian FM says unconfirmed

Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird denied reports that he has confirmed plans to attend the Commonwealth summit in Sri Lanka. External Affairs Ministry Monitoring MP Sajin Vass Gunawardena had told newspaper editors and electronic media heads yesterday that?Baird had confirmed his participation. Accident kills Navy officers

An accident between a container lorry and a car killed two Navy officers in Puttalam this morning. The police said that the accident took place along the Puttalam ? Anuradhapura road. The container lorry had crashed into the car near a Civil Defence Force camp in the area. A 44 year old Navy commanding officer and a 32 year old Lieutenant Commander wer killed in the accident.
