Government says appeals for clemency was rejected

The Government says appeals for clemency for the three Sri Lankans sentenced to death in Saudi Arabia had been rejected, resulting in the execution of the three Sri Lankans today. A statement by the Foreign Ministry said that a Saudi national, Omar Yeslam Saeed, was murdered and then robbed in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on 11 May 2007. First result goes in favour of the UPFA

The first result in the 2015 Parliamentary election went in favour of the United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA). The UPFA got the most number of votes in the Ratnapura District in the postal votes with 11367 while the United National Party (UNP) secured 9673 votes and the JVP 1808 votes. Saudi Arabia executes three Lankans and an Egyptian

Saudi Arabia today?executed three Sri Lankans found guilty of robbing and killing a citizen as well as an Egyptian convicted of murder in a separate case, the interior ministry said.
