Amnesty writes to PM on Prageeth’s disappearance

Amnesty International has written to Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe over the disappearance of journalist Prageeth Eknaligoda.

Today marks nine years since?Prageeth Eknaligoda was reported missing.

Amnesty?noted with disappointment that very little information has been made available to investigators from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in the last four years.

The court case is currently proceeding, but in the absence of full disclosure by the military on details of the investigation requested by the CID of the Sri Lanka Police, Amnesty International said.

Eknaligoda was believed to have been in military custody at an Army camp before he went missing. (Colombo Gazette)

Several people found to be infected in Fort and Gotatuwa

A number of people infected with the coronavirus have been detected in the Fort and Gotatuwa areas. Officials said that 74 infected persons were detected in Gotatuwa and 60 people in Fort.
