FCID asked to probe match fixing attempt

The police Financial Crimes Investigations Division (FCID) has been asked to investigate an attempt to convince two Sri Lankan cricketers to fix a match. Sports Minister Dayasiri Jayasekera said that he filed a complaint with the FCID after he was informed that leading cricketers Kusal Janith Perera and Rangana Herath had been approached and asked to fix a match. The Minister said that two people who had assisted the National team during training at the Kettarama stadium had made the approach.
