Buddhist Sunday school to reopen in stages

Buddhist Sunday schools which were temporarily closed due to the COVID-19 outbreak in Sri Lanka are to be reopened under two phases. Commissioner General of Buddhist Affairs Sunanda Kariyapperuma said Sunday schools for Grade 06- 13 will recommence from 16 August. President orders Central Expressway project to be expedited

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has issued instructions to expedite the Central Expressway project. Arrivals, inmates at Senapura among latest coronavirus patients

Sri Lanka detected 23 new coronavirus patients during the 24 hours ending at 6am today, the National Operation Centre for Prevention of Covid-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) said. This included 17 inmates at the?Senapura rehabilitation center and six arrivals. NOCPCO said that the arrivals who had contracted the virus included five from Qatar and one from Saudi Arabia.
