Matara to Beliatta passenger train service launched

The first passenger train service from Matara to Beliatta was launched today. The Matara to Beliatta railway track was constructed with funding from China Exim Bank. The 36 kilometer extension of the southern coastal rail line from Matara to Beliatta is the first stage of a 113-kilometer railway line from Matara to Kataragama. Suspects arrested over Rathgama murder further remanded

Seventeen suspects arrested over the murder of two businessmen in Rathgama have been further remanded till April 22. The two businessmen, Manjula Asela and Rasheen Chinthaka, had been reported missing since January 23 this year. Investigations later revealed that the two businessmen in Rathgama had been killed and the bodies were later burnt. Youth falls to his death from construction site at Galle Face

A youth fell to his death from a construction site at Galle Face in Colombo this morning. The Police said that a 22 year old youth fell from the?18th floor of a hotel under construction at Galle Face. Investigations are underway.
