Samuels out of Zimbabwe Tri-Nations

Seasoned right-hander Marlon Samuels is out of the Tri-Nations Series starting in Zimbabwe later this month. The West Indies Cricket Board announced on Thursday that the 35-year-old had been replaced in the 15-man squad by wicketkeeper/batsman Shane Dowrich for the November 16-27 One-Day International tournament involving Sri Lanka and hosts Zimbabwe. No reason was given for the Jamaican?s withdrawal but it comes on the heels of the news Wednesday that the player had rejected the WICB?s offer

Cremer hits maiden century but Sri Lanka dominate

Graeme Cremer struck his maiden Test century but the Zimbabwe captain’s gritty knock could not prevent his side from closing day three of the first Test against Sri Lanka with a heavy deficit. Cremer, who arrived at the crease in Harare with Zimbabwe 139 for six in reply to Sri Lanka’s 537 and facing the prospect of following on, hit 102 not out to drag the home side to 373 all out. By the close of play on Monday, Sri Lanka had reached five without loss in their second innings to lead by 169.

De Silva ton leads Sri Lanka in Harare

Dhananjaya de Silva struck an unbeaten century to give Sri Lanka the upper hand over Zimbabwe on the opening day of the second Test in Harare.
