Leading local activist Keerthi Tennakoon has been appointed as the Governor of the Uva Province.
He took oaths before President Maithripala Sirisena today.
Keerthi Tennakoon is the Executive Director of the Campaign for Free and Fair Elections.
He also operates as the Executive Director at the Center for Human Rights and Research (CHR).
Meanwhile, two other Governors also took oaths today, including the new Governor for the Northern Province.
Suren Raghawan took oaths as the Governor of the Northern Province and Dhamma Dissanayake as the Governor of the Sabaragamuwa Province. (Colombo Gazette)
