School kids in PC racket

A group of school children have been arrested for stealing computer parts and selling them to internet cafes, the police said. The children are all students attached to leading schools in Moratuwa and Panadura and had stolen computer parts from their respective schools. According to the police, eight students between the ages of 16 and 18 were involved in the racket together with two adults from an internet caf?. UNP MP injured in clash with cops

UNP MP Jayalath Jayawardena was injured when UNP protestors clashed with the police during a demonstration in Fort this evening. The police earlier fired tear-gas to disperse the crowd gathered for the UNP protest as they were obstructing the traffic. The UNP organized the protest against the rise in fuel prices.

LTTE flag waved at match

The Australian police seized an LTTE flag which was waved at the match between Australia and Sri Lanka in Sydney a short while ago. A man who was seen waving the flag during the Sri Lankan innings was also taken away by the police. Following the incident a tight security presence was seen near the stands where the Sri Lankan supporters were sitting.
