Group of SLFP MPs likely to join new UNP alliance

A group of Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) Parliamentarians are expected to join the new alliance of United National Party (UNP), sources said.

Sources said that some key SLFP members have already had discussions with the UNP to join the alliance.

The UNP has approved the formation of the new alliance to contest the next election.

Some SLFP members who are not happy with moves by the party to form an alliance with the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) have had talks with the UNP to join the alliance to be formed by the UNP. (Colombo Gazette)

  1. At least three TNA MPs have duel citizenship and openly they declared it. According to the constitution, this cannot happen. Geetha lost her seat but these TNA people still enjoy parliamentary privileges, due to blessings from Westerners. This shows the corruption level in parliament and law in the country. Recent High Court decisions will become questionable soon.
