President warns will not give Ministerial posts to rebel SLFP MPs

President Maithripala Sirisena today warned that he will not give Ministerial posts to rebel Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) Parliamentarians.

Three SLFP MPs today joined the Government of the United National Front despite a decision taken by the SLFP not to support the new Government.

SLFP MP Shantha Bandara said that if any SLFP MP goes against the decisions taken by the SLFP, President Sirisena will not give them appointment letters to obtain Ministerial portfolios.

He said the President had issued this warning at the SLFP Central Committee meeting today. (Colombo Gazette)

  1. Mr. President.
Please keep it up to the last.
The SLFP has to be diciplined at least now.
    Noor Nizam.
Former SLFP District Organizer, Trincomalee District, SLFP Stalwart since 1969 and Press and Information Office to HE. Mahinda Rakapaksa Feb 2010 – Feb. 2014, Political Communication Researcher, Convener – “The Muslim Voice”.

  2. President seems that he has determined to pull the leg of the people of this country well and truly. He is going to be the worst President ever in Sri Lanka. If he genuinely wanted to clear the mess he created on 26/10/2018, he could have very well appointed the Cabinet of ministers on the very same day Prime Minister was sworn in. President didn’t do that because he had a despicable idea of making life difficult for Ranil’s government in other wards his own government. Voters who voted him to the position of Presidency on 07/01/2015, now feel sorry and were cheated by him.
