The US Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Alaina B. Teplitz welcomed this weekend’s political developments, which she says upheld Sri Lanka’s democratic and constitutional norms.
The Ambassador said that Sri Lanka is a valued partner in the Indo-Pacific region and the US looks forward to continuing to develop its relationship with the Sri Lankan Government and people of the country.
Meanwhile, Australia said that it looks forward to working with Sri Lanka to take forward its commitments to deliver peace, reconciliation and prosperity.
The Australian High Commission in Colombo said that Australia welcomes the resolution of the political uncertainty in Sri Lanka by constitutional means.
Australia also noted the resilience of Sri Lanka’s democratic institutions during the crisis. (Colombo Gazette)
