Tight security outside Lake House after court ruling

Tight security was placed outside Lake House (state media) following the Supreme Court ruling on the dissolution of Parliament today.

Riot Police and the Special Task Force had been placed outside the building.

A group of United National Party (UNP) supporters had gathered outside Lake House and demanded that posters placed on the building wall supporting former President Mahinda Rajapaksa be removed.

The UNP supporters insisted that since the Supreme Court had ruled against the dissolution of Parliament the management of Lake House must be returned to the UNP.

The Police then intervened and removed the UNP supporters. (Colombo Gazette)
