Army postpones press conference amidst outrage

The Army announced that a press conference scheduled to take place tomorrow on an annual defence seminar had been postponed indefinitely. The announcement came as the international community and local activists expressed outrage over the appointment of the new Army Commander. Two more JMI members arrested

Two more members of the Jamathei Millathu Ibraheem (JMI) who received weapons training have been arrested. The Police said that the two JMI members had been arrested in Ampara. According to the Police the two suspects had received weapons training at a training camp operated by the mastermind of the Easter attacks, Zahran Hashim in Nuwara Eliya. The JMI was banned in Sri Lanka following the Easter Sunday attacks.
