Amnesty International has been campaigning for justice for Ragihar Manoharan and four other Tamil students allegedly killed by the Sri Lankan security forces on Jan. 2, 2006 in Trincomalee.

Amnesty noted that despite police investigations and a Presidential commission of inquiry, no one has been held accountable for these crimes.

To publicize this case, Amnesty has two photo actionsongoing, one focused on Ragihar in particular and one on the “Trinco Five” students as a group.

The photo actions at calls on the Sri Lankan Government to effectively investigate and prosecute those responsible for these murders so that the families of the students may at last receive justice. (Colombo Gazette)

  1. This is nothing new to Sri Lankan Judiciary. They have lost the regulation of the world. They are adamant not to accept international investigation They say that it is an internal matter. In which case they should ask for economic help from foreign countries
