Athureliya says he will sit as an independent MP

The Venerable?Athuraliye Rathana Thero says he has decided to sit as an independent MP in Parliament.

Rathana Thero was in Parliament today when sessions began.

Venerable?Athuraliye Rathana Thero sat with the United National Front (UNF) during the sessions.

In a speech made later, the Venerable?Athuraliye Rathana Thero called for a peaceful resolution to the political crisis.

He said that the side with the majority in Parliament must be allowed to run the Government. (Colombo Gazette)
