Canadian envoy takes on Namal on twitter

The Canadian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka?David McKinnon has reacted to Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa on twitter over a comment he made on the United National Party (UNP) and Tamil National Alliance (TNA) meeting diplomats in Colombo to discuss the political crisis.

Rajapaksa had tweeted saying “Interesting to see @officialunp JVP & TNA politicians meeting with the int. community. Perhaps if more effort was given toward meeting with the people & communities of #lka & paying heed to their hope for #elections, #SriLanka can finally achieve its fullest potential. #LetMeVote.”

The High Commissioner replied to the tweet saying “You might ask some of your @PodujanaParty colleagues who they?re meeting with.” (Colombo Gazette)

India, Russia sign agreements for procurement of 6 lakh AK-203 rifles

India and Russia on Monday signed the agreements for the procurement of 6,01,427 7.63x39mm assault rifles AK-203 through Indo-Russia Rifles Pvt Ltd, under the military-technical cooperation arrangement for 2021-31.
