Parliament met today very briefly and adjourned till Friday November 23rd.
The House met with Deputy Speaker Ananda Kumarasiri taking the chair and he announced that based on a decision taken at the party leaders meeting today, Parliament will adjourn till 10am on Friday.
There were no incidents during the session and it was peaceful as compared to what was seen last week.
Last week MPs clashed on two days resulting in some sustaining injuries and Parliament property also being damaged.
Yesterday, an All Party Meeting called by President Maithripala Sirisena to discuss the current political developments was held at the Presidential Secretariat.
There was an agreement at the meeting that the Parliamentary session today should be conducted peacefully. (Colombo Gazette)
