Major General arrested over incident involving Wildlife Department officials

An Army Major General has been arrested over an incident involving Wildlife Department officials. Police Spokesman, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Ajith Rohana said that the Army Major General had surrendered to the Habarana Police today. Seventy-eight Sri Lankans who returned from overseas infected

Seventy-eight Sri Lankans who returned from overseas have been found to be infected with the coronavirus. The 78 Sri Lankans were found to be infected after PCR test results were obtained yesterday (Wednesday). A number of Sri Lankans who returned from overseas had been found to be infected with the coronavirus over the past several weeks. The Government had on Monday enforced a ban on passengers arriving from the Gulf. However, the decision was revoked yesterday, under certain conditions.

Twenty-one including Mihintala PS official arrested over rape of 15-year old girl

Twenty-one suspects including the Deputy Chairman of the Mihintala Pradeshiya Sabha (PS) have been arrested over the exploitation and rape of a 15-year old girl. A total of 18 suspects had initially been arrested over the incident.
