Parliament sittings adjourned till tomorrow after tense situation

Parliament sittings were adjourned till tomorrow after a tense situation arose in Parliament today.

The tense situation arose when the Government refused to accept Speaker Karu Jayasuriya’s ruling to conduct a vote on the no-confidence motion on Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.

The Speaker conducted the vote despite objections raised by the Government.

Ratmalana Airport to re-commence flights to Maldives

The Ratmalana Airport is to re-commence flights to the Maldives, the Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Private) Limited announced today. Lanka IOC increases price of fuel again

Lanka IOC has increased the price of fuel, just days after it increased prices after world oil prices rose following the crisis in Ukraine.
