India cautions Sri Lanka on de-mining

India today cautioned Sri Lanka on the demining in the north saying the authorities should make sure all the mines are removed and that nothing is missed in an attempt to meet a deadline. Probe on oil leak impact

The National Water Supply and Drainage Board is investigating the harm the oil leak near Diyagala could have caused to the water supply after the oil got mixed with the Mahaweli River. Two arrested for smoking in the plane

Two passengers, who were flying onboard a Sri Lankan airlines flight, were arrested today for smoking in the plane. Both passengers had been smoking in the toilet of the plane while returning from Kuwait late last night, the police media unit said. The two Sri Lankans were initially warned by the Sri Lankan airlines flight crew after the smoke alarm had been set-off.
