Namal joins SLPP to contest polls

Former Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa has decided to join the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) to contest the elections in January.

A member of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, Rajapaksa tweeted saying that he will join the SLPP with immediate effect.

“I am joining the effective immediately. We will strive to create a broader coalition with many stakeholders under the leadership of & to face the upcoming General Election and come out victorious,” he tweeted. (Colombo Gazette)

    If not for your Father’s popularity, nobody would cast a vote for you.
    If you were brought up well and was provided a good education by your parents, live upto that reputation and the mannerism and not hooliganism. Warn your brothers too, to guard their tongues how they act.
    You have already caused a criticism to be levelled against your father for the arrogance displayed when you walked into the FCID in shorts/T’shirt & Trainers. Stop the big talk and warn Chi Chi too.
    You and your brothers were part of the downfall of your father. You did not mind but we mind as the people bore the brunt of that loss. Just how U went back to associate villager after your father’s loss, stick to the village. You have another Dozen years or more to mature & to be reckoned as Presidential material.
