Former TID DIG Nalaka de Silva further remanded

Former Terrorist Investigations Division (TID) DIG Nalaka de Silva was today ordered to be further remanded till March 6th over the alleged plot to kill the President. Meanwhile, an Indian national, Mersalin Thomas, who was also in remand over the alleged plot, was acquitted. Nalaka de Silva had earlier been remanded till today by court. International travel ban imposed on five cops

An international travel ban has been imposed on five policemen who have been evading arrest following the murder of two businessmen in Rathgama. The Officer in Charge of the Southern Crimes Investigations Unit and a Sub Inspector were arrested and 15 policemen were ordered to be transferred over the incident. However five policemen had failed to report for duty after the transfer. (Colombo Gazette)
