Mahinda appeals to Tamils and Muslims to support him

Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa today appealed to Tamils and Muslims in the country to support him.

Speaking at a United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) rally in Battaramulla today,?Rajapaksa assured that he will work towards addressing the issues of the Tamils and Muslims.

He also stressed that his relationship with President Maithripala Sirisena cannot be broken no matter what is said.

Speaking here,?President Maithripala Sirisena also assured that he will resolve the issues faced by Tamils in the North and East.

He said that the policy of the new Government will ensure it benefits the whole country.?(Colombo Gazette)

Special flights to be operated to repatriate stranded students

National Carrier Sri Lankan Airlines is set to operate special flights to repatriate 443 Sri Lankan students stranded overseas due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Issuing a press release, the Sri Lankan Airlines said the special flights are being operated as part of measures taken by the Ministry of Foreign Relations to bring back Sri Lankans stranded overseas.
