Voice recordings of former DIG Nalaka and Namal match

The voice recordings of former DIG Nalaka de Silva and activist Namal Kumara match, the Government analyst department informed court today.

Court was told that 123 of 124 voice clips recorded off a conversation held between former DIG Nalaka de Silva and activist Namal Kumara had found to match their voices.

Police are investigating a claim of a plot to assassinate President Maithripala Sirisena and former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa.

Details of the plot emerged from a telephone conversation between former DIG Nalaka de Silva and activist Namal Kumara.

Nalaka de Silva was suspended from his post till the investigations are completed. (Colombo Gazette)
