The Navy detained 30 people in Chilaw who were attempting to migrate by boat. According to the Navy media unit, a special operation was carried out by the Sri Lanka Navy and Coast Guard in Samindugama yesterday and today. Three including father and son killed while flying kite

Three people, including a father and son, have been killed while flying a kite in Galle today. According to the Police, the three people had been flying the kite on the roof of the house. The asbestos roof had given way resulting in all three of them falling down and being killed. The Police said that a 46-year-old man, his 6-year-old son and a 44-year-old neighbour were killed in the accident. Further investigations are underway. (Colombo Gazette)

RAT test mandatory for Sri Lankans heading to Australia before boarding flight

A Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) has been made mandatory before boarding the flight for Sri Lankans heading to Australia. SriLankan Airlines said that as per the latest health guidelines issued by the Australian High Commission in Colombo, passengers travelling on SriLankan Airlines to Australia require a negative RAT prior to check-in for flights, commencing from 15th May 2021.
