Displaying the levels of salt and fat in food products has been made mandatory, Health Minister Dr Rajitha Senaratne said. He said that food products will need to carry color codes to inform the consumer about the levels of salt and fat in those items.

Stock of decaying shot-guns found buried in Matale

A stock of decaying shot-guns have been found buried in Matale, the police media unit said. The police said that over 100 guns were found near the Matale District Secretariat. The guns were found when excavation work was underway at the location.

Malaysia reviews security following Sri Lanka envoy assault

Police are reviewing the security procedures at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) following Sunday’s assault on Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner to Malaysia Ibrahim Sahib Ansar, the New Straits Times reported.
