Fuel price review likely every week in future

14 Oct, 2018

The fuel price review is likely to be carried out every week and not every month in future.

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said that with world fuel prices increasing some countries introduced a system to change fuel prices daily.

The Prime Minister said that since Sri Lanka did not have the experience to conduct a daily price review a monthly review system was introduced.

He said that the idea was to eventually introduce a fuel price review weekly.

The Prime Minister said that there are allegations against the fuel pricing formula with some saying if the formula changes then the fuel prices will reduce.

However he says he cannot guarantee that.
