Cuba and Sri Lanka are committed to boost their relations in the context of the working visit to the Caribbean island of State Minister of Foreign Affairs, Vasantha Senanayake, Prensa Latina reported.
Cuban Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodriguez, received the visitor in Havana on Monday, a meeting developed in a friendly atmosphere, it was reported.
Rodriguez and Senanayake highlighted the good state of the bilateral relations and agreed to continue the political dialogue and strengthen collaboration in sectors of common interest. They also exchanged on international issues.
The visitor’s agenda also included a meeting on Monday with Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Rogelio Sierra.
Sri Lanka was the first Asian country to recognize the legitimacy of the Cuban government after the triumph of the Revolution in 1959. (Colombo Gazette)
