NLDB chairman arrested for accepting a bribe

The Chairman of the National Livestock Development Board (NLDB) K. Muthuvinayagam, was arrested for accepting a bribe.

He was arrested by the Bribery Commission for accepting a bribe of Rs 600,000 from a businessman to expedite the process to rent a restaurant at a farm in Melsiripura.

The Chairman of the National Livestock Development Board and another suspect were arrested over the incident.

The Chairman of the National Livestock Development Board had earlier demanded Rs. 1.2 Million as a bribe but later reduced it to Rs. 600,000. (Colombo Gazette)
