Court suspends CID probe on former Minister Ravi Karunanayake

The Colombo Magistrate?s Court today issued a stay order on the investigations being carried out by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) on former Minister Ravi Karunanayake.

The CID was investigating the former Minister over allegations he gave false information to the Presidential Commission which investigated the treasury bond scam.

Last week the CID?filed a case against Karunanayake, accusing him of giving false information to the Presidential Commission of Inquiry.

Karunanayake had been questioned by the?Presidential Commission over the scam which took place when he was the Finance Minister.

The CID had filed a case at the?Colombo Magistrate?s Court accusing?Karunanayake of giving false information when he was questioned by the commission.?(Colombo Gazette)

Covid testing at airport for fully vaccinated Sri Lankan returnees
