Terrorism Investigation Division (TID) Director, DIG Nalaka de Silva, has been transferred pending the conclusion of ongoing investigations against him.
The Police said that the DIG has been transferred to the IT division of the Police.
The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) was last week instructed to take over the investigations into the allegations against DIG Nalaka de Silva.
The DIG has been accused of attempting to tarnish the image of some senior Police officers.
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe had also ordered a full report into the allegations against the TID DIG.
Meanwhile, the CID today questioned activist Namal Kumara who had made the revelations on the TID DIG.
Kumara was questioned for over 10 hours. (Colombo Gazette)
