Ranil Wickremesinghe turns down request to enter Parliament

By Easwaran Rutnam United National Party (UNP) Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe has turned down a request to enter Parliament. A number of UNP members made the request to Wickremesinghe at a meeting today. Wickremesinghe was requested to enter Parliament through the only National List seat of the UNP. MR turned down offer to evacuate civilians fearing Prabakaran will escape

Travel ban imposed on Basil Rajapaksa lifted

A travel ban imposed on former Minister Basil Rajapaksa has been lifted. The Colombo High Court directed the authorities today to lift the ban. A travel ban was imposed on the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) National Organizer for misusing funds belonging to the Divi Neguma Department for the Presidential Elections in 2015.
