Norway dismisses claims regarding Tamil children

Norway has dismissed reports that Tamil children taken into the care of child welfare services in Oslo are not allowed to speak in their mother tongue. Irudeniyaya residents object to land acquisition

Residents of Irudeniyaya have objected to moves by the government to acquire agricultural land in the area for development purposes. An organization representing the people in the area said that a mass protest will be staged in the Kurumegala town on Wednesday against this move.
