British High Commission officials visited the Hambantota Port which is jointly operated by Sri Lanka and China.
A brief statement said that the delegation from the British High Commission visited the Hambantota Port and was welcomed by the port operator, Hambantota International Port Group (HIPG) — a company established as a public-private partnership between the Government of Sri Lanka and China Merchants Port Holdings Company Limited (CMPort) to develop the port.
The delegation included Deputy High Commissioner Tom Burn, Political Affairs Officer at the British High Commission Dinidu de Alwis and Phil Dickinson, Second Secretary of the British High Commission.
During the visit the delegation also had talks with Tissa Wickremasinghe, Chief Operating Officer – HIPG, Ravindra Jayawickreme (AFNI), CEO Hambantota International Port Serviand Ray Ren, CEO of Hambantota International Port Group. (Colombo Gazette)
