Sri Lanka and Japan today discussed the movements of ships in the Indian Ocean.
Visiting State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, Kazuyuki Nakane met Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe at the Temple Trees today.
The Prime Minister assured Japan that Sri Lanka stood for the free movement of ships in the Indian Ocean.
Nakane responded by saying that Japan will support Sri Lanka in its efforts to ensure freedom for ships operating in the Indian Ocean.
The Prime Minister’s office said that Wickremesinghe also thanked Nakane for the assistance given to Sri Lanka by Japan.
Special focus was given at the discussion to Japan’s involvement in the central expressway project. (Colombo Gazette)
