Chinese traditional paintings on display in Sri Lanka

An exhibition of Chinese traditional paintings was declared open today.

Hosted by the China Cultural Center in Sri Lanka and the Shaanxi provincial Department of Culture, the exhibition features the work of four renowned artists.

The organizers said that among the paintings on display is that of Zhang Gao from the Shaanxi province in China.

The exhibition is being held from August 29th to September 2nd and is open free to the public.

The audience visiting the exhibition would be able to enjoy some unique creativity which extends from applying traditional methods of painting skills to modern work of art.

The respective artists are also at hand to share their knowledge, skills and traditional background to the work of art they have created.

The organizers said that the exhibition has the support of the Chinese Embassy in Colombo and is being held ahead of the National Day ceremonies of China to be held in September and October.
