Chinese Communist Party assures Sri Lanka support to achieve goals

The Communist Party of China today assured Sri Lanka support to achieve its goals.

Guo Yezhou, Vice Minister of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) gave the assurance when he met Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe in Colombo today.

A delegation of the Communist Party of China called on the Prime Minister at Temple Trees in Colombo.

The Prime Minister’s office quoted Guo Yezhou as saying the CPC and China will help Sri Lanka reach its goal of becoming the hub of the Indian Ocean.

Guo Yezhou and Wickremesinghe also discussed the need to take steps to strengthen ties between the United National Party (UNP) and the Communist Party of China.

It was also noted that a system must be in place to share information between the UNP and the Communist Party of China.

The Prime Minister thanked Guo Yezhou for the support given by the Communist Party to the UNP and to Sri Lanka. (Colombo Gazette)
